Man Donates "Oops Clock"

Oops ClockA custom clock designer in Thomasville, NC has donated a piece known as the "Oops Clock" to The Salvation Army of Greensboro's Select Store.  The Salvation Army sells items from it's family stores to support local programming.

Glen Miller, the clock's creator said that he loves to work with wood and to help people.  According to the The-Dispatch.com, Miller said "[The new select store] is a great place to show it off and for the terrific exposure that helps everyone invovled."

Miller says that he was inspired by reading books to his daughter, like Alice in Wonderland or The Cat in the Hat and says that it was the imagery in these books that really got his mind going.

Proceeds from the sale of items from Salvation Army Family stores stay in local communities to provide local programming.

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for 130 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar spent is used to carry out those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.
