The 1st Annual Divisional

Singing Company Competition

October 5-6, 2012

Who is Eligible to Participate?

  • All competing groups must be comprised of participants between the ages of 7-12 who are actively involved in their corps.
  • A minimum of 2 people per group is required.

What do you sing?

A total of 2 pieces

  1. 1 required piece that will be performed by each group (required piece will be announced in January 2012)
  2. 1 piece chosen by the group leader from a list provided by the Divisional Music Department.

Live accompaniment is required for performance during the competition (an accompanist will be provided if needed). PDF copies of music and audio files of the music are included at the bottom of this page.

Where

The competition will be held during the Divisional Music Councils on October 5-6, 2012 in the Faith Chapel at Camp Walter Johnson. 

What does your group win?

  • First place group will receive an "XBOX 360 Kinect" gaming system for the corps, a 3 year subscription to The Salvation Army’s “Children’s Praise” vocal series, a group trophy, and first place ribbons for each group member.
  • Second place group will win a 2 year subscription to The Salvation Army’s “Children’s Praise” vocal series, a group trophy, and second place ribbons for each group member.
  • Third place group will win a 1 year subscription to The Salvation Army’s “Children’s Praise” vocal series, a group trophy, and third place ribbons for each group member.
