We Need You to Volunteer

The Center of Hope

The Center of Hope is the social services arm of the Greensboro Salvation Army.  We provide assistance to those in need in many different ways.  The areas where we can use volunteers are as follows:

KITCHEN VOLUNTEERS – Help to prepare, serve, and clean up after participant meals during the week or the weekend.  (Assisted by staff)

EVENING CHILDCARE VOLUNTEERS – Assistance with childcare for children under 13

CRISIS HOT LINE ATTENDANT – Responsible for answering the Crisis Hotline, and screening clients in need of assistance.  Set up appointments for interviewers.  Retrieving and returning calls from the Crisis Hotline voicemail.

FOOD PANTRY/FOOD BAG PREP- Responsible for assisting staff with stocking the food pantry, and preparing food bags for those in need.

GENERAL CLERICAL VOLUNTEERS – Pre-screening clients seeking assistance.  Assisting in making copies, filing, and special projects as needed.

All Volunteers must be approved by the Volunteer Application process which includes a background check.  A short orientation is also required.
