Stock the Sled

The Capital City Clauses are excited to continue our partnership with WNCN to host Stock the Sled, a toy drive to support the Wake County Salvation Army’s Christmas Cheer Program. This year we will host two toy drives on Friday, December 13th; one at North Hills in Raleigh and one at Southpoint Mall in Durham.

This is the second year of the Stock the Sled toy drive. For the past 20 years our mission has been to collect toys to stock the Salvation Army’s Toy Shop.  Every December the Salvation Army sets up a temporary Christmas toy shop to provide a place for the families signed up for their program to choose toys for their children. With this partnership we hope to collect an unprecedented number of toys for Wake County children and exceed our goal of raising over 7,000 toys this year.

WNCN will broadcast live throughout the day from both locations beginning with “WNCN Today”. “WNCN News” will feature live shots and coverage throughout the remainder of the day with visits from Penn Holderness, Pam Saulsby, Melanie Sanders, Chief Meteorologist Wes Hohenstein and other members of the WNCN news team.

We hope that you will find some time during the day to come out and drop of a toy at North Hills orSouthPoint – we’d love to see you! To thank you for your donation and to share in the holiday spirit there will be opportunities to win prizes and discounts at local merchants.
