The International Outpost started in 2000 under the leadership of Majors Francisco and Carolyn Zuniga. The first meeting place for this congregation was at the Boys and Girls Club site on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. In 2002, the Army acquired the International Corps facility located at 2850 New Walkertown Road and the Outpost quickly grew to Corps status.

Today, the Corps is offering traditional Corps programs and opportunities especially designed for Winston-Salem's fastest growing population, Latinos. In conjunction with Forsyth Technical Community College, the Corps provides English-as-a-Second-language instruction.

The facility is situated across from Forsyth County's most heavily concentrated Latino housing community,  Lakeside Apartments, which provides a great mission field for the International Corps.
