THE SALVATION ARMY NEEDS HELP RENEWING SOULS

<WILSON, NC April 21, 2010> — New beginnings . . . watching lives blossom . . . restoring hope for lost souls . . . that’s what The Salvation Army is about.  Whether it involves helping a family stay in their home, providing food to keep children fed or assisting a family so that they can pay both their rent and their utilities — The Salvation Army is there to help our struggling neighbors.

“Every day we have the opportunity to touch the lives of others — and nothing is more rewarding than seeing someone who is ready for a change realize their potential,” says Captain Craig Gontner, Commanding Officer.  “Many of the struggling people we serve simply need a few friends to show them God’s love during difficult times.  Here in Wilson, it is our heartfelt desire to help every hurting person who comes through our doors.  All that’s needed is for the community to come together and offer support.”

This spring, The Salvation Army would like to invite as many people as possible in our community to join us in our efforts to reach out with compassion to those in need.  No donation is too large or small.  Donations can be made by phone at 1-800-SAL-ARMY or online at http://www.salvationarmycarolinas.org/commands/wilson.  For more information on the services offered by The Salvation Army — or how you can offer your support — please call 243-2696 today.
