To all Salvation Army Clients of Union, South Carolina

On January 13, 2011, The Salvation Army office in Union, South Carolina, experienced a burglary. As a result, the computer used by our Social Services Caseworker was stolen. This computer contained the software program used to capture and maintain some of the personal information of households that were assisted by that location.

The local police were notified immediately once we discovered the theft. We are taking the necessary steps to notify any individual whose personal information could have been stored on the stolen computer. We are notifying you that there is a possibility your information was stored on the computer.

Please know that The Salvation Army takes the security of personal information very seriously. Again, this theft has been reported to the authorities for investigation and potential criminal prosecution.

You may want to contact the credit reporting agencies to obtain a credit report.
