High Point, NC-- The "Season of Giving" has arrived and even before the bell ringers hit the store fronts, the Salvation Army of High Point has kicked off its Angel Tree Program.
The program allows the community to adopt an "angel" to make the wishes of local children come true on Christmas morning.
Angel Trees are at locations all over the High Point area. Each angel includes the name and age of a child and what is on their wish list for Christmas.
"It is very common for families to choose 'angels' similar to their children's ages and gender in order to involve their family in helping those who are experiencing difficult times. The children always have fun and it is a practical lesson on selfless giving," said Captain Vicki Perez of The Salvation Army of High Point.
Unwrapped Angel gifts can be dropped off at the location they picked the angel from or at 301 W. Green Drive by December 9th. For more information, call or email Captain Vicki Perez. As more Angel Tree locations are added, they will be posted to the Facebook event page at www.facebook.com/sahighpoint.
