SuperBowl Sunday: Watching Together....

The Salvation Army Greenville Corps is set to host the 2012 SuperBowl Party on Sunday beginning at 4:30pm.
This year, their “vision” is not to just watch the game themselves, but to “invite” the surrounding the community to join in and watch it together!

Through various partnerships with Angel Cops and local college ministries Collide and Fuse, The Salvation Army is excited to team together in offering those who are homeless and less fortunate an opportunity to watch the game just like the rest of the world will be doing this Sunday.

Ministry partners and those passionate about doing the most good throughout this community have joined forces realizing the power in collaboration, and how coming together to serve others does much more than fighting the battle on our own.

“Love your neighbor as yourself…” becomes very real as we graze across the parking lot over the main road, and into a tent city hiding in the woods.  Walking distance away, we find our neighbors homeless and eager for life and opportunity.  We find our neighbors whom we are called to love as ourselves.

Around 4:30pm folks from different ministries around the area will load up at The Salvation Army and head out to the homeless tent city
to spend some time with our neighbors there, making friends, and sharing goods/clothes that were collected over the past few weeks.

A time of loving on each other and building relationships, breaking down barriers, and spreading the gospel of Jesus.

From there we will bus the students and neighbors back to The Salvation Army and eat, play, and watch the SuperBowl, then head out back to the
tent city to take them “home”.  The beginning of many trips and parties we are excited to do together.

New Friends, Football, Food, and Followers….Couldn’t think of a better way to spend SuperBowl Sunday!

Join us or volunteer at 252-756-3388!
