Emergency Assistance

Hours of service are as follows -

Financial Assistance and Foreclosure Prevention : By appointment only - please call 336-235-0368. (services include: rent, utilities, mortgage and housing counseling

Food or Referral : Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm first 25 in line

Clothing Voucher : Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm (Administrative entrance)

Shelter Intake : Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm first 5 in line

SHELTER INTAKE -

You must bring with you -

  • · A current, valid picture ID or driver’s license
  • · Social Security Cards for all household members
  • · Eviction notice (if applicable)
  • · Pay stubs and/or any other proof of income (disability, SSI, child support)

NOTE: Shelter intake process will take at least 1 hour.  Please be prepared to wait.

FOOD ASSISTANCE - you may line up beginning at 7:00 am and we take the first 25 in line

  • · You must have a valid, current picture ID
  • · You must have social security cards for all household members (no copies will be accepted)
  • · You must have proof of all household income.  For example - pay stubs, SSI, disability, child support.

CLOTHING ASSISTANCE -   You may receive a clothing voucher no more than once every three months.

  • · You must have a valid, current picture ID
  • · You must have social security cards for all household members (no copies will be accepted)
  • · You must have proof of all household income.  For example - pay stubs, SSI, disability, child support.
  • · Each person on the voucher is entitled to 12 pieces of clothing each.
  • · The voucher is good for 3 days.  if lost or not used in those 3 days, you must wait 3 months for a new voucher

  • · You must have a valid, current picture ID
  • · You must have social security cards for all household members (no copies will be accepted)
  • · You must bring the past due/disconnection/eviction notice with you
  • · You must have proof of all household income.  For example - pay stubs, SSI, disability, child support.
  • · Bills from the last 3 months

 

Duke Energy / Piedmont Natural Gas/Oil

  • · We do accept walk-ins
  • · Clients may line up no earlier than 7:00 am Sign up starts @ 7:30 am
  • · During the summer months, we may assist with what cools your home  (Duke energy)
  • · During the winter months we may assist with the service that heats your home
  • · Photo ID
  • · Other identification for all household members (SS cards, Medicaid cards, etc)
  • · Bill must be in the client’s name and cannot be a bill from an old address
  • · Proof of income
  • · Lease agreement
