NightWatch
NightWatch is a ministry that began in November of 2004 and continues today. A group of volunteers from many area churches and civic groups meet at the Center of Hope and gather in prayer before heading out to visit with the homeless where they are. They bring food, snacks, hygiene kits, Bibles and the love of Jesus Christ to different sites in Greensboro and minister to the homeless. For more information or to volunteer contact Steve Still @ 336-235-0362 or steven.still@uss.salvationarmy.org
NightWatch is an evangelical street outreach ministry to the homeless in Greensboro. On Friday nights, the NightWatch team visits homeless people where they are — on the street, in the woods, under bridges.
NightWatch distributes hot food, snack bags, blankets, hygiene kits and other items necessary to help meet the immediate physical needs of unsheltered homeless people. NightWatch team members pray with and spend time talking to the people they encounter on the street — focusing on their spiritual needs, and their need for friendship, fellowship and community. » Scriptural Foundation: Matthew 25:31-40
The NightWatch team is made up of volunteers from churches, colleges, and groups all over the Triad. The NightWatch ministry is evangelical and non-denominational. NightWatch team members are united by faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and by a shared call to minister to "the least of these" in His name.

1.) Are you a "born-again" believer — saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ? "Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’" — John 3:3
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." — Ephesians 2:8-10
2.) Are you a mature follower of Christ with a desire to show the love of Jesus and to spread the Gospel in practical ways to the people on the street? "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’" — Matthew 28:18-20
3.) Would you be comfortable interacting with and befriending homeless people in the places they sleep and hang out? "...the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’" — Matthew 25:37-40
4.) Are you willing and prepared to pray with people, serve people, and share your own personal story and testimony when it is appropriate to do so? "...always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you..." — 1 Peter 3:15
5.) Are you at least 18 years of age or older?
If you answered "yes" to all of these questions and are interested please contact Steve Still at (336) 273-5572 to schedule an orientation.
