Camp Walter Johnson

Changing Lives One Summer at a Time

Each summer, youth from all over the Carolinas come to camp, situated on High Rock Lake, for a week that can literally change their lives. Young people enjoy many activities at camp:

  • High-Ropes Challenge Course
  • Rock Climbing Wall
  • Canoeing
  • Paddle Boats
  • Campfire
  • Pontoon Boats
  • Outdoor & Indoor Sport
  • Crafts
  • Large Outdoor Swimming Pool
  • Children's Activity Pool
  • Hiking
  • Fishing

CWJ's summer staff, under the leadership of The Salvation Army's Divisional Youth Secretary, is well-trained to help campers grow socially and spiritually while having fun with new friends. Camps generally last one week. Boys, girls and coed camps are scheduled from mid-June through August.

Camp Walter Johnson also schedules camps for adults and seniors. These typically occur in May before the end of the school year).
