What we do ...
In Durham, Orange, and Person counties, The Salvation Army serves:
People threatened with homelessness. Emergency rent and utility assistance keeps them in their own homes.
People in immediate need. Direct assistance is offered without discrimination, and includes emergency groceries, warm winter coats, a thrift store and all the fixings for a wonderful holiday ... from special groceries to new clothing and toys for children.
At-risk children, ages 6-18, get support for academic and life growth afterschool, evenings, weekends, and all day during the summer.
Spiritual seekers. The Salvation Army's spiritual and community services reach all kinds of people, without discrimination.
