Christmas Volunteers

More than 2,500 volunteers help to make The Salvation Army's Christmas Assistance programs a success each year. We need you! As a volunteer, you might help us register families seeking assistance, decorate the Christmas Center, man an Angel Tree location (click to register on register to ring), sort donations, or pitch in during distribution. Choose a day and time, and come join in the fun!

For questions about our different volunteer opportunities, please contact 980-297-6775.

Angel Tree – Mall Volunteering

This year, The Salvation Army is hosting Angel Trees in local malls. These trees provide a great opportunity for the community to have access to angels for adoption. In order to provide this opportunity, we are in need of volunteers to help patrons find an angel to adopt and receiving adopted angels and their gifts back into the site location. This is a great chance for families, church groups, and other service groups to be a part of helping others this holiday season. To register to volunteer at the malls click here. (you will be taken to the Register to Ring website.) You may also call Sarah Gamble at 704-714-4736 to sign up to work at the malls.

Each tree will need a minimum of two volunteers each shift during mall hours. The volunteer shifts are for 4 hour increments.

2011 Mall locations - SouthPark Mall and Carolina Place Mall

2011 Volunteer dates – mid November–mid December

2011 Volunteer hours – 10am to 2pm; 2pm to 6pm and 6pm to close

Contact Sarah Gamble at 704.714.4736 or by email for information about volunteering at the Malls.

Bell Ringers

The one of the signatures of The Salvation Army, Red Kettles, help support our on-going programs. Volunteer bell ringers are needed at various locations around Mecklenburg and Union Counties throughout the Christmas season. A great activity for church groups, civic organizations, families or friends, bells can be adopted for the season or a day. Help us spread the Christmas spirit all year long!

Register to Ring by clicking here or you may contact Sarah Gamble at 704.714.4736 or by email for information about volunteering as a bell ringer.
