Anderson Salvation Army Participates in Statewide Emergency Drill
Operation Palmetto Shield
The Salvation Army of Anderson participated in the statewide disaster exercise called Palmetto Eagle 2010 and Palmetto Shield. Our team operated from the Anderson County Emergency Center located at the Anderson County Airport. This training exercise included thousands of individuals, and over 100 agencies, including local, regional, state, and federal agencies and departments.
The Salvation Army welcomed the opportunity to assist our neighbors in Anderson and all those who participated from all over the state. Since its charter was enacted in the United States in 1899, The Salvation Army has provided emergency services to individuals and communities affected by disasters and other catastrophic events.
